I’m Joel Cantor, and I believe you should be able to lead your best life, free from anxiety and stress. I am a Mindfulness-Based Hypnotherapist and Health Coach, operating from Weybridge, Surrey and working with clients locally and further afield. I’ve spent over a decade and a half helping people overcome their obstacles to health and happiness.

I’m professionally qualified and accredited, and I’ve listed all my formal credentials at the bottom of this page. But qualifications alone won’t help you find the right person to help you. So, please read on to learn more about how I got to where I am today.

Learning to live my best life – Joel Cantor:

Having graduated with a degree in Psychology, I began my career as a trauma therapist at a South London charity for children and young people. As an advocate for personal and professional growth, I continued to study, gaining further qualifications before setting up my private practice in Weybridge.

At that time, I was out of shape; middle age was approaching fast, and I knew things had to change. Being a qualified hypnotherapist meant I already had a professional toolbox of improvement modalities. However, it was the daily practice of Mindfulness Meditation that became my wellness strategy of choice.

My experience and the beneficial results I saw from practising Mindfulness Meditation meant that I soon began integrating MBCT (Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy) and MBSR (Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction) concepts into my clinical practice. I have since worked successfully with clients using mindfulness-based interventions, hypnosis, and other therapeutic techniques to help them stop smoking, reduce their anxiety and stress, overcome depression, phobias, fears and insomnia, increase their confidence and self-esteem and lose weight.

In short, what began as a fascinating self-development program has become a valuable addition to my everyday life and an integral part of my Weybridge-based practice.

Nurturing wholeness through integrated therapies:

As a Mindfulness-Based Hypnotherapist and Health Coach, I believe the nature of therapy should be holistic. So, I’ve made it my mission to stay up to date with advances in psychological, biological, and technical research so that I can provide innovative approaches to well-being.

I integrate all the most valuable teachings from various therapeutic approaches into my clinical practice based in Weybridge. Most commonly, I layer the use of Hypnosis with Mindfulness Meditation. The combination of these two modalities can be immensely beneficial if you’ve hit a wall in your physical or mental well-being, if you feel stuck and don’t know which way to turn, or if you’ve experienced trauma, either in the past or more recently.

How I work:

I always offer a complimentary fifteen-minute phone consultation to allow you to discuss whatever is on your mind and to answer questions about Hypnotherapy and Mindfulness and the processes involved.

After this initial phone call, you decide if you’d like to proceed with a full consultation. Our next meeting can be face-to-face in my Weybridge clinic or online. Whichever you choose, I welcome you to a comfortable and professional space. I base my practice on kindness, empathy, and integrity. Together, we develop effective strategies to help you break negative thought patterns and live free from anxiety and stress. I work with clients of all ages and genders presenting with various issues, from PTSD and phobias to weight control issues and addictions.
