Many of our clients have experienced depression at least once in their lives and I work with them to help them to resolve the underlying causes, to provide help and support by using a combination of Hypnotherapy, Mindfulness therapy and professional counselling.

Hypnotherapy treatment for depression works by creating new positive and powerful beliefs at an unconscious level. These beliefs then become deeply held beliefs and will stay with you allowing you to easily move throughout your day.

Mindfulness based Cognitive Therapy Treatment for Depression is another alternative way to help you and works by teaching you Mindfulness Meditation Techniques that will help you to disconnect from repeating depressive thoughts, feelings and emotions which will then prevent any future episodes of depression from being triggered.

Traumatic Incident Reduction Therapy - Counselling for Depression works by resolving any previous traumatic events you have experienced, that may trigger or contribute to your episodes of depression.

What we know about Depression.

Depression affects approximately 20% of the population during their lifetime, so it's quite a regular feeling that many people will also feel.  One of the worst parts about depression is that people endure it too long and choose not to seek help that would massively help them.  Without the right help, this can have a dramatic effect on the quality of your life and if severe, normal daily activities can be almost impossible to do.

Depression can of course be a very serious illness.  Many health professionals use the terms 'depression', 'depressive illness', or 'clinical depression' to refer to something very different from the common experience of feeling miserable, or fed up for a short period of time.

If you're suffering from depression, then you may experience feelings of extreme sadness which can last for a long time. These feelings can be severe enough to interfere with your daily life, and usually last for weeks ore months, rather than just days.

Statistics also show that sadly, women are twice as likely to suffer from depression as men, although men sadly are far more likely to commit suicide. This may be because men are more releuctant to seek help for depression.

Depression has been well studied and we now understand depression so well that we know that by using Hypnotherapy and Mindfulness Therapy along with counselling that you can find yourself back to a feeling of empowerment and able to put depression behind you.

In addition, we can also use a range of Mindfulness based Cognitive Behavioual Therapies that are effective treatments for depression.
