These days many therapists will tell you that gaining control over your weight is about ‘changing your relationship with food’. They will tell you that their particular method of addressing the Subconscious mind using perhaps Meditation, Hypnosis or CBT, will be the key factor in achieving your goal.
As a therapist working with weight issues for over a decade now, I would say that while certainly transforming your relationship with food is extremely important, it is equally as important to focus on changing the food you are having a relationship with.
By this I simply mean putting nutrition at the forefront. Using Hypnosis to convince someone into eating healthy food and incorporating ‘Mindful Eating’ is often not enough. It’s just a little too vague for most people.
Successfully loosing weight in the short term means eating exactly the right food at the right times, while at the same time addressing individual dietary requirements.
It is vital that this is done in such a way as to not feel deprived, or desperate for a ‘treat’.
It is also vital that you are not feeling guilty about those occasional celebratory indulgences where everything you’ve learned can be put to one side - for a short time.
It’s important that you can go on holiday and just enjoy yourself without the constant worry about your diet.
Most diets fail as they are nothing more than an endurance test. How much deprivation can you endure before you finally give in and head to McDonald’s.
Completion of this program will provide you with the knowledge and the ability to easily get back on track once the celebration or holiday is over.
Knowledge is power, and I will teach you everything you need to know in order to help you achieve your long term aims as well.
Equally telling someone to ‘exercise more’ isn’t enough. Again it is too vague. It expects too much of the client.
I will teach you everything you need to know about exercise for weight loss, so that you won’t be wasting your time in the gym, or exhausting yourself on marathon bike rides, or running and sweating for miles upon miles in a desperate attempt to shed weight.
In the long run I will help you to have both the desire and the ability to maintain a healthy lifestyle. You will have a comprehensive understanding of how to eat in a way that maintains a healthy weight, and you will know how to adapt and adjust your nutrition as required in order to maintain that healthy weight for the rest of your life.
This program differs from most others in that it addresses the various factors in order of priority.
Yes I will teach you Meditation. This is not only integral to the program, but will also provide you with an invaluable resource that you will be able to draw upon, and use as a coping strategy throughout your life.
Yes I will also use Hypnosis. This will play a key role is helping you along this journey in a way that is both powerful and enjoyable.
And yes, from the very start of the program you will be shown exactly how and when to use exercise in such a way that actually helps you to succeed.
This is a genuinely Holistic program that can help you to kick the sugar habit and loose excess weight, while at the same time providing everything you need in order to become healthy in both mind and body - and to do so in a way that is both achievable and sustainable.

I contacted Joel because I wanted to lose weight. He told me that his method ticked all the boxes, and I think it probably did. It was all about the changing relationship with food approach and involved doing some meditation homework and three Audios to use over the duration of the 'programme'. It was a gradual start, but it worked and Im well on the way to achieving my goal, and I no longer crave Junk food! The fact that Joel was able to see me where I worked made it a lot easier too. Since my sessions with Joel (to overcome fear of injections and the dentist), I have been to the dentists, had a local anaesthetic in hospital, and booked in to have a procedure at the dentists. I saw Joel for some hypnosis sessions just before he moved to Surrey. I had been in a car accident and was having a hard time getting back behind the wheel. As a Builder I'd always needed the use of a van but I just wasn't able to put the accident behind me. My Father was very into Hypnosis, so I knew that it does work for some, but I was still surprised at how well it worked for me. I'd highly recommend Joel, he comes across as professional but laid back, and he's easy to relax and talk with. Although I haven't bought a new vehicle yet, I am hiring them when necessary, so the techniques he used were definitely effective.
